History & Heritage Mid-Week Break Soak up the history and heritage of England’s smallest City of Wells with our special, two day mid-week break. Day One: Arrive midday to enjoy lunch in the Penn Bar at The Crown. Spend the afternoon at the Bishop’s Palace, just a stone’s throw from The Crown. Afternoon teas available from the Bishop's Palace or al fresco overlooking the wonderful gardens. Dinner served in the evening in Anton’s Bistrot at The Crown. Day Two: Take a guided tour around Wells (available Wednesdays at 11am and 2pm, to be booked in advance). Discover the many hidden delights Wells has to offer and learn about its interesting past and present. The tour will finish at Wells Cathedral, where you may choose to enjoy lunch before embarking on a tour, around the Cathedral.   Finish the day with dinner at our sister pub/restaurant, The Fountain Inn, just a short walk from The Crown, beyond the cathedral. Day Three: We’ll set you up with a hearty breakfast before you check out. Please leave your car in our car park, while you take the morning to yourself to shop in Wells. Twin Room: just £85.00 per person, per night Double Room: just £85.00 per person, per night Four Poster Room: just £95.00 per person, per night. Based on two people sharing a room. Price includes lunch and dinner on day one, dinner on day two and breakfast on both mornings.

Children at The Crown All children dining in either the Penn Bar or Anton's Bistrot will receive a complimentary activity sheet and supplied with crayons to keep them entertained during their meal. In addition to a children's menu, most of our dishes are available as child-friendly sized portions. We have a selection of delicious ice cream to round off their meal. We are able to warm milk/baby food and have high chairs for our youngest diners. We have nappy changing facilities. We have boxes for all guests staying at The Crown, which feature colouring in/activity sheet and bubbles! We have cots, night lights, spare nappy bags, disposable changing mats and bibs.
