| Wells is on the A39 in mid Somerset.
The Crown at Wells is in the middle of Wells on Market Place, adjacent to the
Cathedral. Whichever way you head into Wells, resist the temptation to follow the signs for the City Centre, as they will just take you to the car parks from which it is difficult to find your way back to the hotel. Instead follow the Hotels & Deliveries signs. They will bring you to a set of traffic lights at the top of the City. Turn left into Sadler Street. You will see the Edinburgh Wool Shop in front of you, HSBC Bank on the left. Turn left into the Market Place. The car park for The Crown is at the back of the hotel. Drive around the Market Place, past the entrance to the Bishop’s Palace and around past the Post Office, Tourist Information Office and Town Hall, into the car park. Parking is also permitted on the Market Place from 6pm to 8am. Please note parking in the Market Place overnight on Tuesday and Friday is not permitted, due to the market set-up the following morning. |
