Wells Charity Boules Tournament ~ Sunday 13th July, 2008
Information & Team Application Form
Wells Boules tournament will take place in Wells Market Place on Sunday 13th July.
Teams are asked to arrive and complete registration by 9.00am for a 9.30am start of play. The final play off will be at approximately 5.00pm.
You will need to bring your own set of boules. However, if you are not able to acquire a set we will be able to arrange for you to purchase a set on the day. It is vital, however, that you bring your own seating please, for you and the members of your team.
Boules (or Petanque) teams can consist of as many players as they wish but only four team members may play in any one match. The competition will initially be on a round-robin basis followed by a knock out competition for the finalists.
At £80.00 the entry fee includes four tickets for a coffee and croissant breakfast on arrival and four tickets for a superb buffet lunch. Extra tickets can be ordered for teams with more than four players at £10.00 per head for lunch, £2.00 per person for coffee and croissant breakfasts.
A wine, beer and soft drinks marquee will be set-up in the court-yard of The Crown, all profits will go to The Nepal Trust, and with various stalls pitched around the Market Place, including one from The Nepal Trust.
The event is in aid of the Nepal Trust and nearly all of the money raised will be sent to the Trust to assist with costs of providing medical supplies and training for the health clinic in the village of Kermi, which is in the remote North West corner of Nepal. This is the clinic that a team of Rotarians led by our local District 1200 clubs and supported by clubs from District 1010 in Scotland and District 1100 in Gloucestershire, built in Autumn 2000. The remainder will be distributed to local charities.
